A Visit to Viengxay and Sam Nuea in Houaphan, Laos

A trip to Viengxay  the capital of Laos revolutionary force while American was at war with Vietnam. was the highlight of the day.

A poster on Do’s and Don’ts in Loas as posted at the ticket office in Viengxay caught my attention.  It was both funny and informative.

Veingxay ‘s location among mountains and cliffs of Houaphan was very impressive.  We spent a good part of the day visiting caves of the revolutionary leaders and revolutionary force

We ended the day with a visit to Sam Nuea’s central market.  Sam Nuea is very famous for craftsmanship in woven fabrics.  Some members in our group even ventured to shops rather than stalls in the market although it was quite late in the evening already.  The find was worth it.
